An Indoor Picnic
A Father's Day tea - not quite. In honor of the men in the Cornerspring children's life, the school celebrates with a school wide Father's Day picnic. It is held a few days before the last day of school and all the dads/granddads/or any special person in the child's life are invited to come share pizza and good company on the school grounds picnic-style. Unfortunately, the day of this year's picnic was rainy, so they had to hold the event indoors. That didn't seem to matter to the kids (or the dads.) Steve shared stories with me in bed that night of how Wesley and his two friends, Lake & Emmit, entertained them (Steve & Lake & Emmit's dads) with a comedy show. He was even giggling as he recalled the fun of the day. He also came home with a wonderful calendar designed by Wesley (the kids worked so hard on their gifts for both Mom & Dad.) I love how Cornerspring includes the whole family as part of the education and experiences of its children. Just one more reassurance that we made the right decision.
