Pumpkin lite up

Tonight is the night we got to see our pumpkin creations lit up in all their orangey splendor. It was the Pumpkin Lite-Up at the Camden Library, hosted by our children's librarians, Amy and Susan. They really go all out. There were crafts, games, lots of treats/sweets, some storytelling, and the grand event, the pumpkin lite-up in the amphitheater behind the library overlooking Camden Harbor. It was very, very, very chilly, but that didn't stop many people from coming out to show off their pumpkin carving skill. The kids weren't as excited about the indoor festivities this year as they were last year. Wesley made one craft then hung out with his friend, Jack. Preston just wanted to eat cookies and suck on a lollipop. He couldn't have cared less about what else was going on . . . as long as he was with his Daddy. That is, until we adjourned outside and started lighting up the Jack-O-Lanterns. It was very cool and I have to admit, our pumpkins turned out pretty cool. It was a fun time and we feel so blessed to live near such a fantastic library with such a caring and creative staff.
