Pint-size Picassos

I've been meaning to post these pictures for a while, but only recently took them. Wesley loves to help his Dad. He loves getting out his "tools" and working with Steve on projects. Steve is currently finishing up Preston's room and Wesley has spent several hours up there "helping" with little things. Part of the project will be to put wainscoting along the bottom half of Preston's wall, so when Steve was painting, he only went halfway down, leaving the bottom half with just primer. One day when Wesley was up with Steve we looked at the wall and didn't just see an unpainted wall, but a blank canvas for our budding little artist. So, I got out the finger paints, dressed Wesley in some "painter's clothes" and set him to work creating a masterpiece. It turned out beautifully so we had to capture it for posterity. Wesley even signed and dated it for future reference. Unfortunately, once the bead board goes up it will be covered, but maybe someday in the future, if that room ever needs redone (hopefully not in my lifetime,) someone will find Wesley's hidden masterpiece. Preston really wanted to get involved, but I could only imagine the mess, so once it was dry we gave him a brush for pretending painting. Preston just loves his room and loves to be in the thick of things, so he took right to it. And Wesley was so proud of his painting - I'll have to find him another wall soon (hmmm? maybe in our room!)
