Party Time for PJ

We celebrated Preston's first birthday on November 10, 2007 with a small party at home with friends and family. A November birthday poses a bit of a party space problem for us so we can't have the big picnic that we have for Wesley's birthday. However, because the rental was available, we moved everything over there which gave us a bit more space and a nice change of scenery for the birthday boy. Plus, it made decorating much easier. A first birthday is exciting for the parents but is probably a bit confusing and overwhelming for the birthday boy, so we decided to keep it simple. We ordered pizza, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream. The kids got a little hopped up on sugar and ran circles around the rental so it got a little noisy but that was okay. We had fun and that was what mattered. Preston especially loved all the balloons and the cake, which he had not tried until that day. We were left with a bit of a mess, but that was the beauty of having it in the rental. After the party, we just closed the door and went home. We'll worry about the clean-up on another day.
