Now this is th
e way to celebrate a 10th anniversary! We didn't get to go away for an extended vacation to the tropics or even a second honeymoon. But we did get to go away for a whole night (which with our hectic lives felt like a weeklong getaway,) got to stay in a free hotel room in Boston (compliments of Papa Ackendorf), ate out at an amazing Vietnamese restaurant (where we enjoyed uninterrupted conversation while eating the most delicious 
steak I've ever consumed), had dessert at an actual dessert bar (creme brulee - my favorite), spent a whole gorgeous sunny afternoon exploring historic Boston (and even got to see them film a Visa commercial while sipping a beer in America's oldest tavern), an
d finally watched the Sox beat down the Tampa Bay Rays from box seats (compliments of Papa Ackendorf and his friend, Mr. Brennan - thanks again!) We chowed on free wings, hot dogs, pizza, chicken strips, & steak tips and drank free beer (as much as we wanted) while cheering for our favorite baseball team. It was just over 24 hours away, but it was a great way to celebrate an early anniversary.
