Spring is here, but this past week you would have sworn it was June rather than April. We've had some unseasonably warm weather and we've really been taking advantage of it. Trips to the playground, time spent in our garden getting it ready for planting and even planting a few seeds, and long walks to the duck pond are some of the ways we've been enjoying the weather. It certainly came as a surprise - our summer clothes are still in storage - but the kids have been loving it. I prefer a gradual change in seasons myself, but I have to admit, the high 70 and 80 degree days have been pretty great. Today we traveled to my parents for a few nights and experienced our first 80 degree day of the season. Whew! It was so hot. We tried out the playground, but it was oppressive and we left after 45 minutes, cooling off with a stop for some ice cream. The boys love playing at the playground, but they'll take ice cream over that any day, so it was easy to get them back into the van. Preston did pretty well in his car seat with the vanilla ice cream, keeping the mess to a minimum. We know that this weather might be short-lived and we could be in store for rain and cooler temps around the corner, so we are really taking advantage of this.
